Testimonials From Around The Web

I believe that reviews are a useful source of information to inform decisions and being a business woman who expects value for money and travels alot in the UK I dont give places a second chance if they disappoint..... I have been frequenting Friends Resturant, on average on a bi-monthly basis since it has opened and not once has it disappointed. I have also ordered takeaways, and what has impressed me is that some dishes they will not do as take away on the basis that the flavour and quality of the dish is affected when there is the delay in transportation from the resturant to home - that demonstrates to me they use fresh ingredients and take pride in the quality of thier food. I have also cheated on the odd occassion and got a take away instead of cooking for friends who came to dinner at home [dont tell anyone! :o)] and everyone was "blown away" by my culinary skills and "beautiful" food !

Reading other reviews, I would acknowledge that on occassions the service has been slow, but the attention, service and communication provided whenever there has been a delay has been exemplary. Nine times out of 10 delays are due to large orders being cooked from fresh ingredients.

I would consider high standards of customer services to be the mantra of the establishment - when I have had a niggle [on the odd occassion], the feedback has been recieved professionally and politely, and issues rectified immediately.
The ambience of the place, the way in which the food is presented and the attention to detail is well worth the price per head. It is not extortionate - on average I pay £60 plus tip for two, for 2 courses, a couple of bottles of good quality wine, and coffee and liquers - I think that is good value.
Do book if your are thinking of going Friday or Saturday evening, or else you won't get a table. Ask if you are not sure of what to eat, the chef appears happy to accomodate changes [within reason] to meet your taste buds - I have dietary needs, and don't like spicy food, and nothing has ever been too much trouble. The staff are all knowledgable about the food, the ingredients, the cooking process, the wine list = everything that is expected from a top class resturant in the City.... I would, on average pay £150 for two people in London for a similar service and quality of food/wine.

My partner loves Indian and considers this resturant the best for miles!
As far as I am concerned, this place ticks all the boxes. If it doesnt for you, then let the Manager know when you are there, rather than via a website!

My daughter took us to this resturant whilst visiting her for New Year. Having lived during the first year of my marriage with distant relatives who had spent many years in India and knew how to cook a curry I consider I know a good/bad curry when I taste one [and I like my curries spicy and hot]. My husband on the other hand, does not like curry and we rarely eat out at an Indian because our tastes differ so much. However, I can not commend this resturant highly enough. The menu provided us both with a great choice and we both agreed we had the best curry we have ever had!! We can't wait to go back again. The atmosphere was perfect and the wine list excellent. Thank you to all the staff who treated us so well.

Having been a regular at Akbars in both Bradford and Leeds which I would say provides the best Indian food there is, I was relieved that having moved south there was somewhere that also served quality, tasty Indian food. I am a regular visitor for both dining in and takeaway and the food is always good, and the owner Ady always friendly and polite. Friends is not the cheapest Indian in the area but I don't mind paying more when the food is the best in the area.Always worth booking on a weekend as it is quite a small restaurant, but never had any issue with getting a table during the week

We tend to use the take away service more and while waiting for our order to arrive we always enjoy a relaxing drink while being entertained with the friendly banter from the staff.
Nothing is too much trouble with “Friends” the chef will accommodate any palate you have, it can be as mild or as spicy as you like. We love going in, as we are always made welcome. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Our friends recommended this little place which they could not stop talking about, so we simply had to try it. We were not disappointed, some of the dishes on the menu I have not seen or heard of before but are something to really talk about. The chef even makes a point of coming to the table to have a chat when he's not too busy! We have already become regulars since and they have only been open for 3 months!
Going through menu at leisure and enjoying it. We highly reccomend this little gem of a place.
